Karen picks up a Gold award
Karen picks up a gold award. The member’s monthly competition runs for 11 months per year and has a range of categories. These cover just about all aspects of popular photographic subjects. Images from this competition are judged monthly with the top images being awarded the converted ‘Gold’ award.
Images that can also receive a highly commended and may go forward to the annual judging which takes place in December when all the ‘Gold Awards’ are reassessed.
Prizes and trophies are awarded on the Presentation Evening at The Societies of Photographers’ Convention, in London.
Karen was successful in picking up a gold award in the March round of this prestigious competition. Karen’s amazing image was taken on our last trip out to Tom Robinson’s fantastic pond hide, the weekend before the lockdown for the Covid-19 outbreak. What a fantastic result for Karen.
Each month, both Karen and Mike work hard looking at images they have taken in recent months. Selecting images for entry into the monthly competition; however, this is never an easy task.
Interestingly Karen and Mike although primarily wildlife photographers, both enter images into more than one category. Pushing their skills and looking to make advancements in their techniques.
They are also very competitive with each other.
