Guided mountain hare workshop in Scotland, during 2022. Small group size (Max 6)
We will be running at least four dates on the mountain hares in 2022, with at least two different locations, we may introduce a third venue depending on how the hare breeding season goes in 2022.
All of these trips are physically demanding and will involve long uphill walks in tough Scottish mountain terrain. It is essential you are prepared for a long day on the hill, in the winter it can get cold very quickly, whilst in the summer the heat can be intense. You will be sat around for long lengths of time with the hares, or crawling over rough and often wet terrain. Good walking boots and appropriate clothing are essential.
We recommend a DSLR or similar with a lens in the range of 300-500mm on a full-frame camera, longer is better, but don’t forget the weight. A tripod or monopod is not recommended and this just adds to the weight you need to carry with you.
We will guide you on to the hares (hopefully) show you how to approach the hare without disturbing them, if need be we can help with settings and composition, as much or as little as needed. We will help you anticipate what the hare will do next and be ready for the shot you are looking for.
Select your date from below, you can add up to the group max at the time of booking. (exact dates still to be confirmed)
As with all wildlife, opportunities cannot be guaranteed, but we will do our utmost to get you in the right position.
